  1. I love seeing social media stats. They’re always very interesting. If only we could get half of those 80 million farmville farmers to actually go out and plant a real tree, or even a plant…

  2. I’m a huge fan of socialnomics – this never ceases to amaze me!

  3. I’m such a geek. I love all of stats. Really defines the importance of social media and how vital it is to understand it so you can take advantage of all it can offer your business.

  4. Very eye-opening to see the statistics of what I’ve started to really pay attention to and observe. Things continue to change SO quickly. I was just thinking yesterday about the fact that I had to run my dissertation data on a computer that took up a whole floor of a building and required a box of punch cards. What a difference!

  5. Seeing something like this puts me at odds. Not that I don’t believe it – I do! And I definitely know that web presence is a huge part of anyone’s successful business. In fact, I argue that there is no such thing as a “local” business anymore. But here I am this week at a face-to-face meeting of Internet marketers, and still – this face-to-face time cements and enhances and strengthens relationships in a way that all of us meeting on social media does not.

What an insightful comment Sue and I have to agree. While I adore social media for the many friendships it’s opened up around the world, there still is nothing like that face to face relationship!

Very interesting! I didn’t realize that 50% of the population was under 30 yrs. I agree with Sue about “local” business and face to face meeting but the power of socialnomics is very real too!! Thanks Mary Ellen

Thanks for sharing this Mel. The more we educate each other, the better we’ll all be. I’ve been trying to tell local business owners this fact for the past year. When used right, it can help you spend more productive use of your time..
I agree with everyone. Nothing replaces face-to-face meetings.

Thanks for commenting Maurice! There is nothing quite like a face to face! The friendships I’ve developed through social networking channels though have opened up relationships with people around the world and that’s been great too.
